Another tournament and another trophy secured. After 4 weeks of inactivity following their success at Pocklington School, the team demonstrated great resilience and character to secure their seond piece of silverware this season.

The start of the day was delayed as our first opponents, Old Swinford Hospital, were held up in traffic. This meant that the first match was against Solihull School, in exceptionally trying conditions on a saturated pitch. However, the team picked up where they had left off some weeks earlier, winning at a canter by 48-0.

The next game was against the most fancied team in the event, King's School Macclesfield, who were unbeaten in the 15s season. It was a rearguard action for most of the first half as we were deprived of possession but defended resolutely against an impressive outfit. In the second half, Luke Carr managed to break the stalemate, with Noah Parkinson adding an important conversion to secure a 14-7 win.

The third game saw another faltering performance against Leicester GS, with the team trailing 0-10 at the break against a team who had only lost once in the 15s season. Noah Parkinson cut an excellent line to start the fightback in the second half before Luke Carr proved his worth to the team with an excellent try to scrape a 12-10 victory.

The hosts were despatched by 34-7 in game 4 which meant that the trophy was in effect already in the bag. However, there was still one match to play against OSH. Ben Copley scored four excellent tries as the team recorded an emphatic 44-0 win.

This was very much a squad effort with 5 matches being played back-to-back. The key to the success was again a dogged and determined defence and some important individual interventions at key stages in games. The squad now look forward to travelling to Woodhouse Grove School on Saturday and to Durham School next Thursday before making their way to the RPNS7s. Bigger challenges lie ahead!
