Match Report
Hymers College Girls' 1st Team vs  Wakefield Girls' High School
On: Wednesday, 19 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

In the absence of Captain and playmaker Katie Tinker, Alisha Bhandari stepped in as captain and led the first team to a superb victory over a Wakefield team boasting some excellent attacking talent.

Vize again was in good form in goal making some crucial saves on a blustery day, and was only beaten by a slick passing move by WGHS.

Hymers scored 3 excellent and very different short corner goals. 2 from Grantham and one from Willis, a top corner deflection from a Robson strike.

Isabella was in excellent form again, and her lively attacking play created a plethora of chance for Hymers.

The final goal came from Maddie Powell, who has now scored 3 goals in her last 3 games. She pounced on a soft pass between the opposition defenders, tackling a centre back and coolly slotting home as she broke into the circle.

A good win all round.

n.b. a special mention must go to Phoebe Rayner who threw a wind assisted aerial beyond 40 metres!
