Match Report
Hymers College Girls' 1st Team vs  Kirkham Grammar School
On: Wednesday, 12 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

?After an impressive victory at the weekend over a strong GSAL side, the team was determined to consolidate with another good performance during the week. We had never played Kirkham Grammar School before so were unsure what to expect but it turned out to be a very exciting game to watch and play in and we must thank Kirkham for travelling across the country from between Blackpool and Preston.

We dominated in attack early on in the game and were rewarded by Isabella Robson scoring an early goal in the bottom left hand corner. The whole team worked as a unit to carry on strongly both in attack and defence, Laura Vize notably making some exceptional saves in goal. As a team, we remained calm and even though we had scored an early goal there was no sign of complacency nor lack of perseverance to score another goal.

At the end of the first half the score settled at 1-1, with a goal being scored by Kirkham just a few moments before the half-time whistle. We went into the second half of the game determined to score another goal. We were given the call for a short corner and Faith Martin-Porter put us back into the lead with a reverse hit goal, almost identical to the impressive goal she had scored the week before at GSAL.

The team celebrated with a 2-1 win.
